☀️Happy Tuesday, Bucket Listers!

After successfully launching last week, we’re excited to share with you another edition of our events newsletter. There’s a lot going on this week in Denver and we don’t want you to miss out on any of the summer fun. From live music at the annual Juneteenth Music Festival, to top picks for local farmers markets and Father’s day festivities, we’ve got you covered!

🏞️Let’s Go Outside

As we depart from a somewhat gloomy start to the month of June and look forward to the beginning of summer, many will be looking to go outside and enjoy our beautiful community as temperatures finally start to pick up. For those interested in spending some time outdoors this week, here are a few hand-picked items that you’ll want to consider.

Father’s Day Classic 5k/10k & 1 Mile
📍 Arvada | Saturday, 7:30 a.m.–9:30 a.m. What better way is there to celebrate all that dads do than having them run a mini marathon the morning before Father’s Day? The Father’s Day Classic aims to do just that! This annual fun run, which starts at the Apex Recreation Center, includes options for 10k, 5k and one mile competition with entry fees starting at $15 for the mile, $44 for the 5k and $54 for the 10k. Time to find out if dad stuck to his New Year’s Resolutions.

Denver Farmers Markets
📍Various Locations | Saturday & Sunday at variable times

Denver is well known for its populated scene of farmers markets and farm-to-table food offerings. That being the case, it can be difficult to decide where and when they all take place. Have no fear, we’ve done our research and here’s the consensus:

  • South Pearl Street Farmers Market tends to be the most favored among Denver locals for its scale and diverse offerings, although many report that it can get exceptionally crowded. Open every Sunday 9 a.m-1 p.m. on the 1400 and 1500 blocks of South Pearl Street. Be sure to check out Denver’s premiere farmers market before it closes on Nov. 9.
  •  City Park Farmers Market is described as having  similar produce and vendor variety to that of the South Pearl Street Market but without all the hustle and bustle, and it’s frequently cited as the superior choice because of that. Occurring every Saturday until Oct. 26 from 8 a.m-1 p.m. at City Park, join your local food producers and get your hands on this year’s seasonal flavors.
  • Arvada Farmers Market is where you should spend your Sunday morning strolling through the heart of Olde Town. Shop fresh produce, baked goods, local honey, handmade crafts and more while enjoying live music and small-town charm. Open every Sunday from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. until Sept. 28.

City Park Jazz: ATOMGA
📍 City Park | Sunday, 6 p.m.–8 p.m. Wrap up your Father’s Day weekend with the infectious rhythms of ATOMGA, Denver’s powerhouse Afrobeat ensemble, as part of the beloved City Park Jazz series. Settle in on the lawn with a blanket or lawn chair, enjoy a picnic or local food trucks, and take in the lively, free performance surrounded by the beauty of City Park.
