OUR MISSION
Bucket List Community News is Denver Metro’s free online neighborhood news publication. We share neighborly stories and trustworthy voices and report on the people, events and issues shaping daily lives that are often overlooked by other media. We believe neighbors deserve to be seen, heard and informed by trustworthy reporting that reflects their realities. We are independent, solution oriented and community powered. Bucket List Community News has a unique niche at the intersection of journalism, community and education. We are reimagining how news can connect the Denver metro. We listen to our neighbors and share free local news so our community is informed and engaged.

WHAT WE COVER
Bucket List Community News is committed to sharing news and issues that matter to people in our area such as climate change, food insecurity, safety, homelessness, affordability, transportation, inequities, gentrification, growth, and arts and culture. But we also love to have fun, meet people, go out to community events, and see what’s happening in the area and neighborhoods. You might have seen us in the community passing out refrigerator magnets and stickers. Our team of multimedia journalists is pounding the pavement getting to know our neighbors. We call it journalism by walking around.

WHY IS IT CALLED BUCKET LIST COMMUNITY NEWS?
We love the aspirational name and imagined a place where people can swap stories and learn what’s going on in their community. Bucket List Community News is positive, solution-oriented journalism and leans toward social justice. We see everyone as our neighbor and are here to help you get to know one another. We inform and create connection by staying close to neighborhoods, listening and treating neighbors and local businesses and organizations as partners. Without Bucket List fewer Denver metro neighbors would be represented in the news. Our goal is to make sure everyone is heard and sees themselves in the news, our website, social media, three weekly newsletters and our monthly radio program on KGNU.

OUR TEAM
Bucket List Community News has a team of students and recent graduates from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Metropolitan State University of Denver, University of Denver and Denver Public Schools, that aspire to be multimedia journalists and journalism entrepreneurs. We have recognized that many students leaving school are not prepared for the rigors of the newsroom and we are working to address that pain point. Our journalists are interns and paid apprentices and move from Bucket List into excellent jobs. We have a diverse group that represents different voices in our community.
SPONSORSHIPS
Bucket List Community News is community inspired and supported. We are fiscally sponsored journalism entrepreneurs that raise money through grants, community fundraising, recurring monthly contributors and sponsorships. We work with small business and non-profit sponsors to tell their stories in a way that is trustworthy and organic to our audience. A media kit with sponsorship opportunities is on our website, and our rate card and pitch deck with latest analytics are available by contacting vicky@teletrendstv.com. We have a branded content certificate and you will see a sponsored content tag on these stories to set them apart from our journalism. What you won’t see are ad clutter, paywalls, paid subscriptions, paid memberships and barriers to access. Bucket List Community News is free to all.
