Overview:
Our Back to School Fundraiser is raising money to support student journalists and free, community-focused local news.
For my birthday this year I went to the Noah Kahan concert at Coors Field. I sat next to a 12-year-old girl who was with her mom at her first concert. She knew every word to every song. The whole audience did. The entire concert was a sing-along. Everyone was connected by the music and the points of light illuminating the stadium. It was a beautiful noise.

Research tells us people want more connection with each other and the place they live. Bucket List Community News is working to bring neighbors together by connecting people to what is happening in their neighborhoods and to the people who live there.
Unlike news, which so often divides us with extreme points of view, we work to offer trustworthy, solution-oriented journalism that helps us understand one another. We share it for free so everyone in the Denver metro can be informed, engaged and connected.

Even though our news is free to everyone, it costs a lot to produce it, so starting today and running until August 31, we are having our Back to School fundraiser.
Why Back to School? Because everyone who reports the news of your neighborhoods for Bucket List is a student or a recent graduate who is just beginning their journalism journey. More than a hundred students from five universities and three Denver public schools have shared your stories.
We’re a bit like the Peace Corps. Students serve the community before continuing along their way. Your contributions make it possible for us to launch the next generation of journalists and journalism entrepreneurs.
For the next two weeks we’re asking you to please invest in the next generation of journalists while helping us create a more connected community.
The mission of Bucket List is to inform, engage and connect you. We do it on multiple platforms so we can meet you where you are. You can see us on our website, on mobile and with our three weekly newsletters. You can listen to us on our monthly radio program on KGNU. You can see our videos and engage with us on social media and Nextdoor.

Not only are you making it possible for us to continue this important work, but your impact is doubled thanks to a $5,000 matching grant from the Lenfest Institute. $25 becomes $50. $100 becomes $200. Your gift goes twice as far.
Thank you for your contributions to Bucket List Community News and our emerging journalists. It’s something to sing about!
