Vicky Collins, Publisher and Managing Editor/Bucket List Community News
At a recent Boulder convening filled with changemakers in journalism, we were asked to consider three questions.
Who are we obsessed with?
You.
Bucket List Community News is obsessed with our Denver metro neighbors and making sure they have trustworthy journalism. You tell us what matters to you, and we go into your neighborhoods to share the issues, people, places and happenings that make a difference.
We believe everyone deserves access to local news — so we make ours free. No paywalls. No paid subscriptions. And we meet you where you are: on the web, in your inbox, on social media, through video and on the radio.

What’s blocking us?
Like many community news organizations, we’re working to build sustainable revenue at a time when the cost of doing journalism keeps rising.
But we don’t want money to determine who gets access to local news.
That’s why reader support matters. Every contribution helps keep our reporters in the field and our journalism entrepreneurs working to bring you the stories that matter to your community, all for free.
And right now, your contribution can go twice as far. The Lenfest Institute believes in Bucket List’s work and is matching contributions up to $5,000.
What are you so into that you recommend it?
We’re into community journalism.
Because when you know what’s happening in your neighborhood, you can be more informed, more engaged and more connected to the people around you.
Our award-winning student and graduate journalists are producing stories you don’t find anywhere else — stories that spark conversations and help communities understand the challenges and opportunities right in front of them.
Talking to each other is where connection begins. And connection is where solving problems begins.
So now we have a question for you: What’s keeping you from investing in community news?
Reader support is essential to keeping Bucket List Community News going.
If you value having trustworthy, free, hyperlocal news in your community, please invest today in our Back to School fundraiser.
Your investment helps us continue reporting the stories of the Denver metro — and helps us mentor the next generation of journalists who are learning to serve their communities with journalism that is accessible to everyone.
Our fundraiser ends August 31, and we have $5,000 in matching funds available to double your impact.
Please don’t let anything keep you from investing in the community you call home.
