Spring has sprung and with the changing season you will also see changes at Bucket List. Here is this week’s Bucket Listicle all about what’s next and new.

1.)
We are rebranding!
We have rebranded to Bucket List Community News. It’s not a huge difference, but it clarifies our mission as an online publication with neighborly stories and trustworthy voices connecting metro Denver.
We have outgrown our origin story, and frankly, “cafe” caused quite a bit of confusion. We were often asked “where is the cafe?” We are updating our platforms so you may still see our old logo and our website under construction but we’re working to get everything consistent. Here’s a sneak peak at our new logo.

2.)
Our name is changing, but our commitment to you isn’t.
Our commitment to you to share free local news from our team of early career journalists is stronger than ever.
We still mentor students and recent graduates from area universities and the Denver Public Schools. They’ll continue sharing award-winning news from your neighborhoods on our website, weekly newsletters, social media, monthly radio show on KGNU and Next Door. We are meeting you where you are.

3.)
We need your help to be sustainable.
With our rebrand to Bucket List Community News, we’ll be spending the month of April fundraising. Your contributions will be matched up to $5000 by Kathy Neustadt and John and Mark Warren and the investment firm, William Blair.
We ask that you please don’t unsubscribe when you receive our emails. We are completely community supported. We receive our revenue from small grants, your generosity during fundraising campaigns three times a year, sponsorships and our recurring monthly contributors. Help us meet our Spring Fling goal of $10,000 this April.

4.)
Join us on Local News Day 4/9
We have an exciting event coming up and we’d like you all to join us!
Thursday, April 9 is Local News Day and Denver’s independent publications like Bucket List are inviting you to an open house at the Denver Press Club. Admission is free but your contributions are appreciated. Be our guest to check out one of the most historic buildings in our city. RSVP here.
The event is from 5-8 p.m. and will be full of food and fun. Meet your local journalists, have a drink, see the walls covered with some of the biggest local news events over the century, and learn why the work we do matters so much to the community and democracy. Contribute here.

5.)
A huge thanks to our sponsors.
Finally, we would like to welcome our new sponsors. Thank you to Denver Streets Partnership, Denver Public Schools and Spice Kitchen for working with Bucket List. Community news takes a community, and we are deeply grateful for the businesses and organizations that support community journalism and recognize that amplifying their brands with engaged neighbors helps grow businesses and non-profits and makes community news sustainable.
Since 2019, Bucket List has been your source for free neighborly news. We thank everyone who has read our stories and newsletters, listened to our radio program (our next one is this Thursday, April 2 at 3 p.m. on KGNU), visited our website, social media and Next Door, and supported us with contributions.
Do you have a listicle in mind? Any ideas can be sent to ryland.c.scholes@gmail.com. And don’t forget to check out our events calendar on our website to see what else is happening in our area.
See you next Tuesday with another Bucket Listicle.
