Good morning, Bucket Listers!

Summer’s not done with us yet, and neither is Denver. From rooftop yoga and live music to markets and peach parties, this week is packed with events to check out without breaking the bank. We’ve rounded up some of the best free and cheap events happening August 12-19, here’s your chance to dive in!


Festivals & Community Events

Lafayette Peach Festival

📍 Old Town Lafayette on Public Road | Saturday, August 16 | 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Join the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce for a delightful celebration centered around the world-famous, all-natural Palisade, Colorado peaches! Treat yourself to delicious peach pies and peach cobbler while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. There will be food trucks, local vendors, and children’s activities, so bring your family, friends, and love for peaches for a day of delicious fun! 

Fiction Beer Company Event: Caturday

📍 Fiction Beer Company | Saturday, August 16 | 12-10 p.m.

Calling all cat lovers! Fiction Beer Company is hosting their annual Caturday event on Saturday, August 16. There will be a special cat glass release at noon and a kitten adoption event hosted by Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue from 12–3 p.m. Adoption fees support vet care, and early applications are encouraged for quicker approvals. Come celebrate cats and support a local rescue!

Free Movie in the Park: “Despicable Me 4

📍 Zuni Park | Friday, August 15 | 6-10 p.m.

Bring your friends and family to Zuni Park from 6-10 p.m. to enjoy the annual Free Movie in the Park with Councilwoman Amanda Sandoval. From 6-8, there will be a resource fair featuring a climbing wall, Little Man Ice Cream, a live DJ, Miles the Broncos Mascot, and the chance to connect with over 20 city agencies and local organizations. Stick around for a screening of Despicable Me 4 at 8 p.m.! Purchase food from a food truck or bring your own dinner. Don’t forget to bring water, a blanket, and chairs!

Girls in the Game

📍CU Denver Hamilton Gymnasium | Saturday, August 16 | 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Come to the University of Denver for the second annual Girls in the Game event! Everyone is welcome, and the event is designed to encourage and inspire girls to consider a career in sports. There are so many avenues to consider, including sports journalism, sports marketing, coaching, strength training, operations, sports medicine and many more. The event is a partnership between CBS Colorado and University of Denver Athletics. Come out and celebrate girls in sports!

Denver Graffiti Walking Tour

📍”Love This City” Mural (2314 N Broadway) | Sunday, August 17 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

Come check out this two-hour walking showcase of the best street art in Denver. Discover the stories behind the art and learn the social contexts behind them. The tour ends in the heart of the RiNo Art District where you can enjoy great bars and restaurants.

Rooftop Yoga at The Golden Mill

📍The Golden Mill | Friday, August 15 | 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Enjoy some rooftop yoga on Friday morning overlooking South Table Mountain and the Clear Creek River. The class is led by Flow Yoga Studio, and all levels are welcome. After yoga, feel free to enjoy a bite to eat from the food hall. This experience is a great way to start your weekend on a healthy note while taking in a beautiful view.


Live Music & Concerts

Levitt Pavilion Free Concert Series: TAUK with Michael Wilbur (of Moon Hooch)

📍Levitt Pavilion | Saturday, August 16 | 7-9 p.m.

Levitt Pavilion’s Free Concert Series spotlights TAUK and Michael Wilbur! Doors open at 6 p.m., and the concert begins at 7 p.m., with free general admission. TAUK started as a middle school band on Long Island and has since grown to play at many festivals from Bonnaroo to Electric Forest. Bring your friends and enjoy an evening of music and magic at Levitt Pavilion!

Cherry Creek North Concert Series: The Beatles Tribute

📍Cherry Creek North Fillmore Plaza | Thursday, August 14 | 4-8:30 p.m.

Come to Cherry Creek North for their Summer Concert Series! This free event spotlights the best cover bands in Colorado on Throwback Thursdays, and this week is a Beatles Tribute! Bring friends, family, chairs, and food for a night of dancing and joy.

The Orchard Town Center Westminster Summer Concert Series: That Eighties Band

📍Orchard Town Center Sunken Plaza | Saturday, August 16 6-8 p.m.

Wanna hear some 80s music? Come to Orchard Town Center for their Summer Concert Series! This series features fan-favorite local bands and this week is That Eighties Band. This Denver-based tribute band covers songs from the 80s that we all love. Bring lawn chairs, picnic blankets or just your love for live music and enjoy this fan-favorite band!

Live Jazz at Woods Boss Brewing: Tyler Farr Trio

📍Woods Boss Brewing | Sunday, August 17 | 3-5 p.m.

Woods Boss Brewing offers an afternoon of free live jazz performances and delicious beers in their taproom. Come listen to the beautiful music of the Tyler Farr Trio. If you love jazz, beer, or live music, you’ll love this event. Come to the taproom to experience a wonderful afternoon of live jazz!

Denver Municipal Band Free Summer Concert Series: Denver with the Jazz Band

📍Bates & Hobart Park | Friday, August 15 | 6:30-7:45 p.m.

The Denver Municipal Band is hosting a Free Summer Concert Series across Denver-area parks. Performances feature a wide range of musical styles, from patriotic tunes to Latin rhythms, and are designed for all ages. In addition to concerts, the band supports youth music education through school visits, student collaborations, and instructional programs. Bring a picnic and come support the oldest professional concert band in the Continental U.S.!

Denver Public Schools is still seeking mentors for the 2025–26 Coach Mentoring Program, with a priority need for Spanish-speaking, BIPOC, LGBTQ+ professionals, and those in Medical, Engineering, Technology, General Business, and Creative Arts fields. This volunteer opportunity runs September through April and involves 2.5 hours a month at a DPS middle or high school, guiding students along their career and post-secondary paths. Applications are due by August 29, and mentors will receive full support from DPS staff and coordinators throughout the program. Fill out the Coach Application to apply.
