Every avalanche begins with the movement of a single snowflake, and my hope is to move a snowflake. Futurist Thomas Frey
There’s a new movement going on and we want you to join. It’s a community journalism movement. It’s led by scrappy publishers and editors and for-profit and non-profit organizations that want to innovate local journalism. It’s supported by communities that want to be better informed. Bucket List Community CafĂ© is part of that movement. We are committed to bringing Denver hyperlocal neighborly news that builds community by sharing our stories. Solution oriented journalism where all voices are heard, and people see themselves in the news. Bucket List Community News has a unique niche at the intersection of journalism and community and we want you to be a part of it.

We are committed to this being inspired and supported by the community. There are no ads, paywalls, paid subscriptions, or memberships. It’s free to everyone! We receive our support through grants, two rounds of community fundraising a year, small business sponsors like Kelly and Mark Williams at Modus Real Estate and Kaiti Asmussen at Mouthfuls Pet Supply. We have people who give once a year and others who become partners by making a recurring monthly contribution. We are innovating community journalism together.
The next time we communicate I would like to tell you that we blew the roof off our #newsCOneeds fundraiser. That you got on board and supported Bucket List Community News and those who are working to better serve the community with trustworthy local news. That you are helping us to mentor the next generation of journalists from three universities. This really is important, especially as we enter 2024 and a big election year. You need local journalism you can trust. We hope to have great news to share with you about how your generosity propelled us towards the big goals we have for 2024.
Colorado is leading the way with thinkers in the movement to innovate local journalism. Thank you Colorado Media Project, COLab, LION Publishers and Local Media Foundation for believing in Bucket List. Thanks also to our team of advisors. Our #newsCOneeds campaign ends on Sunday, 12/31. Our goal is to raise $7500. We still have $1600 to go to unlock the $5000 matching grant from Colorado Media Project. Come on, Bucket Listers! Please contribute today with a one-time gift or a monthly recurring partner contribution. If you give a monthly recurring gift you’ll be entered in a drawing for two season passes to Water World. Support Bucket List Community CafĂ© and trustworthy local news. Your gifts will be doubled. Community journalism takes a community. Join the movement today. Happy New Year! Â
