Overview:
The publisher of Bucket List Community News discusses why the outlet is important to readers and our May fundraiser.

When you publish an award-winning online community journalism site like Bucket List Community News, you hear a lot about having an impact and adding value. How do we know what we’re doing is making a difference? And how is our work serving the community and giving our neighbors the best possible experience?

At Bucket List Community News, we ask ourselves these questions every day, and we’re grateful that you’ve told us we provide you with solutions and connection. Here are a few things folks said in our recent survey about how our free neighborly news is adding value for them and the Denver area:
I like how hyperlocal the coverage is while still touching on the “bigger picture.” I like the flow and authenticity of the coverage.
Bucket List news feels more personable; like I’m listening to a friend. It’s wholesome feeling. I love the variety of topics covered.
Things that have been covered in other outlets get a more in-depth and local focus from Bucket List. I also love how community-focused it is.
You’re covering topics with “on the ground” perspectives, which I don’t usually get from local news publications. I love the down-to-earth approach.
There’s a level of care/concern with the news from the journalists. I sense they are taking the time to really understand the issue and go a layer deeper than other local sources.
I receive the newsletter and visit the website, and utilize content for information on restaurants, business and hyper-local community events.
I like that it is local news that is written in a very digestible way! The stories are different and cover all topics which I think is very cool.
I like the coverage of material that would never make the cut at any of the area’s larger outfits.
As we enter our Spring Fling Fundraiser, consider how we add value to your life in Denver. Do we connect you to the community? Do you trust us with your stories? If you answer yes, would you please contribute to keep us going? Although our journalism is free to enjoy, Bucket List Community News is not free to publish, and we need your support.
We have $3500 in matching grants from our friends Kathy Neustadt and John and Mark Warren at William Blair. John tells us his favorite reads are the Wall Street Journal and Bucket List! We are supported by our community and can’t do this without you. Please contribute today!
