Hello there, Bucket Listers!

Who’s ready for a three-day weekend? We all work so hard throughout the year and it’s nice to have an extra day to slow down and relax. We’ve rounded up some of the best events and outings happening this Labor Day weekend so you can make the most of it!

Pst… have you contributed to our Back-to-School Fundraiser? We’ve extended the deadline to Friday, Sept. 4. This past weekend Bucket List won 19 honors at the Colorado Press Association awards dinner. Please make a contribution and help us keep the Denver metro area connected through award winning journalism.

1.) Louisville’s Labor Day Celebrations

Make the most of the holiday’s festivities just a 30-minute drive away from Denver. Louisville hosts a large community celebration all weekend long. On Monday, Sept. 7, they’re putting on a parade on Main Street followed by their Fall Festival and a pie contest.

Stop by Louisville to enjoy the show, then grab a bite at one of the many food vendors at the Fall Festival and try some homemade pie baked by your neighbors!

2.) Go to a Concert

What better way to spend your weekend than jamming out to some live music? Maná and the Colorado Symphony are performing at Red Rocks this weekend and Phish is performing at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park from Sept. 4 – 6

If you’re in a bit of a time crunch and can’t find tickets to any shows, don’t fret. Just enjoy one of the Levitt Pavilion’s free concerts. Black Joe Lewis with Boot Gun will be playing on Friday and Mo Lowda & the Humble with Packaging is taking the stage on Saturday. Be sure to RSVP!

3.) Visit a Museum

Take a stroll at one of the many museums in the Denver metro area. So many exhibitions to check out at the Denver Art Museum, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and the History Colorado Center.

One I would check out before it’s gone is the History Colorado Center’s exhibition, 38th Star: Colorado Becomes the Centennial State. The exhibit explores the political and power challenges Colorado faced to become a state

4.) Watch some Sports

Sports fans, there are still a few games you can catch this weekend. The Rockies will play the St. Louis Cardinals from Sept. 4 – 6 at Coors Field, so grab some friends and cheer on your team.

If you enjoy soccer more, the Denver Summit also has a game this weekend on Sept. 6 at the Centennial Stadium. Get your tickets now and enjoy the game before the long weekend comes to an end.

5.) Enjoy the Outdoors

Three days off means that you have time to get some much-needed vitamin D! Enjoy the last bit of summer and hit the trails around Denver, walk through a local farmers market, or spend the day at the Denver Zoo! And if you want to see wild animals, elk are everywhere in Estes Park as the rutting season gets underway.

This is also the last weekend you can enjoy Water World before it closes for the season, but if you’re more of a roller coaster enthusiast, stop by Elitch Gardens.

Thanks for tuning into this week’s Listicle! Whether you choose to soak up the sunshine or take it easy this weekend, I hope you enjoy your well-deserved time off.

I’ll be spending my Saturday at a concert at Red Rocks! What will you be up to? Be sure to send us some pictures of your adventures on our Instagram

Do you have a listicle in mind? Any ideas can be sent to irisserrano989@gmail.com. And don’t forget to check out our events calendar on our website to see what else is happening in our area.

See you next Tuesday with another Bucket Listicle.
