Boyz n the Hood is John Singleton’s groundbreaking 1991 film examining systemic racism and community in South Central Los Angeles. The film portrays the impact of violence, policing, and generational trauma on Black youth. This screening is part of a trilogy highlighting his legacy as a filmmaker.

The Robert Bernard Johnson Quartet delivers a dynamic jazz performance rooted in improvisation and musical storytelling. Johnson’s work reflects deep engagement with jazz traditions while pushing creative boundaries. The performance highlights contemporary jazz voices within a historic art form.

The Dream and the Dreamer is a concert program performed by the Lamont Wind Ensemble. The performance reflects on themes of aspiration and social change. Through a carefully curated repertoire, the ensemble explores how music can reflect collective dreams and individual visionaries.
