Vox Vergere – Phamaly Theatre
The Phamaly Theatre Company, now in its 33rd season, is a disability-affirmative performance ensemble in Denver that exclusively casts and aims to create a home for artists with a range of disabilities.
Play Synopsis:
“Intersectionality, a key component to the disabled community, speaks to the interconnected nature of social categorizations such as race, class, sexuality, age, and gender. The things that make us different are the lifeblood of our community. However, even through these differences we often find ourselves striving for the same things, and asking questions like, “How can love and joy be transformational?” “How can it be a superpower?” “How can we allow joy to be all-consuming?” In this exciting entry into Phamaly’s celebrated Vox series, eight intersectional playwrights have been commissioned to speak on their experiences of love, connectivity, and joy within the disabled community. Join Phamaly as we celebrate not only our differences, but also our similarities.”
