Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble Presents: CARIBE

Join Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble (CPRDE) as we launch our 56th season at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House with Caribe — a vibrant celebration bridging the spirit of the Caribbean with the heart of Colorado. This milestone season features two world premieres. Robert Bain II, of the National Dance Company of the Bahamas, creates a powerful three-movement work called “Junkanoo: Passage of Time” for both our award-winning ensemble and Cleo II, while Guggenheim recipient and CPRDE alumnus Gary Abbott‘s new work draws on the rich influences of Cuba. We will also showcase a work honoring the deep connection and legacy of Broadway icon and choreographer Donald McKayle. The evening welcomes guest performers from the National Dance Company of the Bahamas, honoring Caribbean traditions in every step and rhythm echoing the vibrant color of their cultural and unique layers of local cuisines.
