This past week I attended the Collaborative Journalism Summit in Denver. Publishers, academics, funders and journalism support organizations came together to explore what’s possible when we work together to serve our communities. For Bucket List Community News our most important collaborators are our neighbors in the Denver area who support this work.
That said, this is not an easy time to be fundraising. We are well short of our $7500 goal. We get it! There is so much uncertainty, and people are concerned about how they’re going to pay for groceries and gas. They’re also worried about their neighbors who are hungry, losing jobs and homes, and having their lives disrupted by new policies.
Contributing to journalism might seem superfluous at this time, but it is local news that keeps you informed about the issues, culture, arts, events and people in our neighborhoods. We need trustworthy locally owned publications like Bucket List Community News.
If each one of you who receives this newsletter contributed a small amount during our Spring Fling Fundraiser we would have the wind at our back to make this work sustainable. What does your gift help us do?
- $20 pays for one hour for a member of our business team
- $50 pays for two hours of editing
- $100 pays to translate two stories into Spanish
- $200 pays for a story written by one of our apprentice journalists

Bucket List Community News is free to everyone in our community but it’s not free to produce. Even so, we don’t block your access with paywalls, we don’t demand you pay for memberships or subscriptions, and we don’t clutter your experience with ads and pop ups that get in the way of information and inspiration.
Small donors in the community are essential to making this work. It’s up to you to collaborate with us so we can keep publishing local journalism that matters.
We have less than two weeks left in our Spring Fling Fundraiser, and we have a big hill to climb. Community journalism needs a community. We cannot do this work without you. Remember every penny you contribute up to $4000 is matched by our friends, Kathy Neustadt, John and Mark Warren of the William Blair investment firm, William Blair, and Jerry Bell. They believe in the work we do, and we know you do too. Click here to give now. so we can finish strong and continue bringing trustworthy free journalism to our neighbors.

Warmest Regards,
