SUMMARY:Catalysts
DESCRIPTION:‘The Denver Theatre District (DTD) presents Catalysts\, a community artwork by renowned British-American artist Jann Haworth. Catalysts features a collage of 34 stenciled portraits of behind-the-scenes individuals who are integral to the success and vibrancy of Denver arts and culture\, as selected by participating arts organizations. Each participating arts organization selected an honoree to be recognized and submitted an essay highlighting their remarkable contributions.\n‍\nIn June of 2024 Haworth led a collaborative workshop with honorees\, local artists and community members who created the stencils for the artwork. Haworth then arranged and completed the work which was photographed and adapted to fit the triptych art billboard located on the side of the Buell Theatre in Denver\, Colorado. The Denver Theatre District is proud to host the work of Jann Haworth and invites you to celebrate the incredible contributions of these exceptional individuals. \n‍Catalysts is located on the side of the Buell Theatre on Champa Street between 13th Street and 14th Street and will run until 2027. \n\n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X

SUMMARY:Expedition 1776: New Exhibition at the History Colorado Center
DESCRIPTION:This new exhibit at the History Colorado Center showcases the expedition of Domínguez and Escalante – named after the two Franciscan priests who led it – set out from Santa Fe in July of 1776 with the goal of locating a route to California. Over the course of five months\, this small expedition traversed the Colorado Plateau\, mapping the region and engaging with Native cultures that thrived there for centuries prior to European arrival. Come see artifacts such as rare maps\, trade goods\, travel and survival gear\, and Spanish Catholic artwork crafted prior to the signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. \n\n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X
